We are so excited to get going with the 2016-17 season and many of our girls have already been working hard during the off season. This will be my 3rd year as the head coach at Tville. Before my time at Taylorsville I spent 7 years as a JV/Head Assistant coach with the last 4 being at Riverton High School. During my tenure at Riverton I assisted the Varsity program to a 2013 5A State Championship and also accumulated a 73-7 record at the JV level. Previous to my coaching career I played high school basketball and softball in a suburb of Atlanta, Georgia. As a point guard I was a 1st team all-region and 2nd team all-state player. After high school I played basketball and softball at Southern Virginia University where I received my Bachelor of Arts degree in Physical Education and Recreation Management. I served an LDS mission to Helsinki, Finland and upon returning home met and married Mike Lee in 2005. Together, we have 3 gorgeous children, Kayhlen, Daxten and Ryhlen.
Coach Balmforth-JV Coach
I am excited to continue coaching here at Taylorsville. This will be my third season as the JV coach and I love it. Before coaching I played here at Taylorsville under Coach Hymas for four years. I was defensive player of the year and in the top ten in the state for three point shooting. After high school I went on to play for Salt Lake Community College, and I loved learning and continuing on in the game! I later served an LDS mission to Tacoma, Washington, and after returning home two years ago I am continuing my education and will hopefully have a bachelors in Exercise Science soon.
Coach Baron-Sophomore Coach
I was born in Indiana and raised in Utah. I was brought up in the LDS church and I am the third of 4 children. Ever since I was able to walk, I have been active and involved in a number of sports. I played basketball all 4 years at Murray High School and was named 2nd team all-state and honorable mention all-region. Since graduating in 2010, I have been coaching high school girls basketball. During the off-season, I coach for Primo Basketball (an AAU program). Off the court and outside of the gym, I have worked for 3 years as a supervisor at an RTC. I couldn't ask for a better job (besides coaching) because it is rewarding and it reminds me to always be patient and hard working no matter the circumstances. I am hoping to go to school within that line of work. I am new to Taylorsville this year. I am very excited to be a part of the girls basketball program and can't wait to see what I can bring to the table for the Warriors this season.
